Golf at Vineyard Club San Diego

On hot days about to fry
Played golf in Vineyard club
In San Diego city Bay hub
Company was great
Drinks fizzy aerate
T off was smooth
Yet hits without much tooth
We hit the woods and bush
Balls had to be given a push
We holed some in five shots
We resolved to be on the trot
Our shots were straight
It was, as if a bait
For shoddy one to follow
Spirits were getting hollow
When my partners hit perfect
My shots lacked the effect
Got lost in the woods
Dropped another as I should
Reached the hole through sand
Discouragement had to withstand
Then on the fifth it was a birdie
Exhileration was as could be
Friends were there to cheer
Encouragement to further steer
Then came the pond before the flag
All balls dipped in water sans our swag
Golf, like life shows you the place
Ego cut to size, frustration to replace
Rest of the holes were mixed bag
Some good shots some really bad
The surrounding was pure joy
Green fairway setting sun saying ahoy!!
It was an enjoyment so pure
I would like to go back for sure
