ज़िंदगी का किस्सा

मौत के नाम का तो सिर्फ बहाना था

दरअसल ज़िंदगी का ही किस्सा सुनाना था

मुख्तसर सी है ये और हसीन इतनी

कि हर पल जन्नत के सुकून सा फसाना था

बस काबिज में हों ख्याल अपने

वर्ना यही तो ज़िंदगी तबाह करने का तराना था

कुदरत और इन्सानियत पर जो खरा उतरे

ऐसी समय तरीन सोच से खुद को सजाना था

मौसम की तरह बदलते हैं जो जज्बात

गरज़ते हैं बरसते है, फिर उन्हें बदल जाना था

बदलते नहीं आबो हवा जगहों के यूं ही

मजबूत ख्यालों को नहीं हर बार डगमगाना था

उखड़ गए जो पांव तेज हवाओं में

तूफानों से होगा कैसे मुकाबला गर यूं ही उखड़ जाना था

The Story of life

Reference to death was a ruse

To tell the story of life that ensues

It is journey so beautiful all along

Has a flavour of heaven so strong

Thoughts though define much of it

Yet have power to destroy life bit by bit

Keep your thoughts in constant repair

In tune with natural and humanistic flair

Ideas that keep changing like weather

Never last long and soon wither

But the ones based on right principles

Are like a climate of a place unchangeable

Swept off feet in a gush of air

Can it weather storms flushed with dare
