Tribute to Papa on June 1
My father-in-law Shri Vidya Prakash Singh was a remarkable person - with quiet strength and wisdom of a saint. He passed away in AIIMS on the 1st June 2003 after a brief struggle with pancreatic cancer. A tribute to him on his 22nd Punyatithi
22 years rolled by yet your memories are fresh
You stood in our lives like a strong buttress
With a quiet strength and wisdom of a saint
You waded through life without complaint
Unconditional acceptance was key to your life
Be it people, situations, positions or strife
You gave your best to what came your way
Your approach always exercised positive sway
With malice to none and affection for all
To this Papa, you make, even tallest small
Your laughters and chuckles brought smiles
Memories are fresh as we walk our miles
You left us so soon, leaving a big hole in our hearts
We miss you Papa, your memory never ever departs
In our memories and life, you stand tall like a colossus
Like a true guardian angel forever watching over us
Today we pay a heartfelt tributes to our ideal
Drawing strength and lessons from the real
Rare are those who leave legacies profound
You were one whose strong memories abound
